Acrylic Nails
Acrylic Nail Extensions and Acrylic Natural Overlays/Wraps have changed quite considerably over the years and at Hampson Beauty Clinic we have technicians that have over 20 years plus experience in the industry, so you will always be guided to the right treatment for you, whether its nail extensions to extend badly bitten nails or just add extra strength with natural nail wraps the treatment is tailored to your needs creating a look you will constantly receive compliments on.
All treatments are carried out by professional nail technicians to either add length and enhance the visual appearance of your nails with extensions or to encourage natural nails to grow with a natural acrylic wrap overlay.
Our hands do a lot for us; they allow us to touch, to feel, to grasp, to hold, to manipulate, and ultimately they help us to express ourselves. Even as we talk our hands assist us in conveying our message more clearly from the way we move them as we speak, therefore the appearance of our hands and fingernails are in constant view and are noticed more frequently if they are both well maintained and looking good.
Acrylic Nail Extensions
This treatment consists of pushing cuticles back (nipping if necessary), filing over the natural nail then applying a plastic tip to extend to required length. The acrylic is then applied from the tip to base of the nail and the whole extension is filed into desired shape. You can choose from our range of O.P.I Normal Nail polishes or you could upgrade to choose from over 250 colours in our O.P.I Gel Colour range (testers painted on palettes for your convenience) 2 coats of the chosen polish and a topcoat are then applied. If you choose normal polish drying time is required for up to 20 mins to be safe from smudging, where as Gel polish will be dry instantly as it is cured with LED light boxes.
Re-fills are required every 2-4 weeks

Acrylic Nail Wraps
This treatment consists pushing the cuticles back (nipping if necessary), filing over the nail bed then applying the acrylic directly to the natural nail from tip to base, allowing the whole nail to breath with acrylic being 100% porous. If some nails are shorter than others they can be built up using free-forms (a way to increase length without the aid of a plastic tip), likewise if all the natural nails require added length this method would be used on all 10 fingers providing there is at least a millimeter of free edge to get the free-forms under and would occur an additional cost. The acrylic wrap is then filed and shaped to desired length and shape. You can choose from our range of O.P.I Normal Nail polishes or you could upgrade to choose from over 250 colours in our O.P.I Gel Colour range (testers painted on palettes for your convenience) 2 coats of the chosen polish and a topcoat are then applied. If you choose normal polish drying time is required for up to 20 mins to be safe from smudging, where as Gel polish will be dry instantly as it is cured with LED light boxes.

Acrylic Re-Fills
This treatment usually happens around 2-4 weeks after the initial new set of Acrylic nail extensions or wraps and every 2-4 weeks thereafter. Exactly the same process happens with the filing over the whole nail, adding acrylic to the base where the natural nail has grown out then refiling, shaping and buffing as required. You can choose from our range of O.P.I Normal Nail polishes or you could upgrade to choose from over 250 colours in our O.P.I Gel Colour range (testers painted on palettes for your convenience) 2 coats of the chosen polish and a topcoat are then applied. If you choose normal polish drying time is required for up to 20 mins to be safe from smudging, where as Gel polish will be dry instantly as it is cured with LED light boxes.

Soak off of Acrylic Wraps or Acrylic Nail Extensions
The best way for removing Acrylic is soaking your fingers in acetone. The acetone melts the acrylic and with buffing every 10 Min’s the layers flake off. It is essential that if you have acrylic extensions or wraps that you remove them this way to prevent damage to the natural nail underneath because if the acrylic is picked off, layers of the natural nail are removed also causing the natural nail to become weak and bend easily until this part of the nail has grown out.
It is also recommended to refresh acrylic every 2-3 months to prevent it becoming brittle and because it is 100% porous there is no need to have a rest period in between soaking off and applying new acrylic therefore you can have a soak and new set of extensions or wraps in one treatment where the soak off cost is waived and you pay for just the new set of extensions or wraps.
If you are just having the extensions for a special occasion and need them soaked off after, the treatment time is usually around 30 Min’s and after all the acrylic has been removed a nail strengthener is applied, it is recommended that every other day you also apply a nail strengthener.

Nail Art
Nail art on acrylic nails can be an upgrade to most treatments throughout the Nail section as its quick and all done by freehand and completed at the stage of painting before the top coat is applied. You can have all 10 acrylic nails painted with the same design or all totally different or if you don’t want all 10 fingers painted with nail art why not try it just on the ring fingers on each hand, for examples of nail art we have painted on clients have a scroll through our gallery.
